Mike D, whose real name is Michael Diamond, is an American musician and founding member of the hip-hop group the Beastie Boys. Along with Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz and Adam “MCA” Yauch, Mike D helped to bring hip-hop to the mainstream in the 1980s and 90s. Born in New York City in 1965, he is known for his distinctive vocal style and innovative approach to music. Aside from his music career, Mike D is also involved in various charitable activities and has made several appearances in film and television.
